druid69: (Achmed)
Yesterday I was informed that I cost the company that I drive for ( Interstate ) $2000, because I delivered a load early. By one day.

So now I am in trouble, not sure what the company will do with me next. Interstate is cutting back on drivers ( they still want to cut back 200 more ), so I am a little nervous about that.

Fucking almighty Target Inc.© is the company I delivered to yesterday, and today my dispatcher told me he was getting a lot of flak from higher up. Fucking almighty Target Inc.©'s policy is that if you deliver early, they fine you $2000. If you deliver late, the fine is $1500.

What is the purpose of this? I can see fining a load being late, but early? You would think that most companies would be happy the get their merchandise early.

Incidentally, there was no issue as far F. A. Target being backlogged or anything. The delivery yard was practically empty.

Not only that, but they are total hypocrites. After all, they accepted the delivery, enjoying the benefit of having their merchandise. Then they imposed a fine, as though suing for damages. You can't have it both ways!

It seems to me that if they did not want to take the load early, they could have told me to come back later. Other companies would. They do it all the time. But not Target.

It seems to me that the fines are a way for these fucking big name corporations to make even more money at others' expense. They already get most of their products from China to cut back on expenses, and we all know how that works, so the goddamn shareholders can live way better than the people who do the actual work.

I am convinced more and more that big name corporations, and our Government, are nothing more than common thieves, and they still have the nerve to look down on us as peasants. So why do we stand for this? We are all sheep and cattle, waiting for the shepherd and his mutt to tell us were to go and what to do.

So now I wait for what happens next; I might even be looking for new employment in the days to come. This is my first offense, but it still makes me nervous.
